The DoD Safe Helpline app is the recipient of the 2013 American Telemedicine Association's (ATA) President's Award for Innovation, which recognizes advances in telemedicine through innovative new technology development. Created by RAINN on behalf of the Department of Defense, the Safe Helpline app is the first-ever sexual assault response mobile app. It's unique features include personalized self-care plans; customizable imagery and relaxation techniques; resources for Active Duty, Guard, Reserve and transitioning Service members; and detailed information about sexual assault effects, prevention and recovery.
